8-26-24 THOUGHTS
We read and discussed this passage area last evening. It is most powerful, something to be totally absorbed by us, which is indicated in the word “dwell” in verse 8. Rejoicing and anxiety are placed in the same context. The solution is for us to turn it all over to God in prayer. He will “guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” We are finally given a glorious list of things to THINK ON! Our in depth thinking needs our PRACTICE. The blessing is GOD’S PEACE and PRESENCE! Rejoice with me in the Lord today!
Php 4:4-9 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! 5 Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. 9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
My Prayer:
Father God, You have given us so much reason to rejoice. Thank You Lord. Teach us to pray and help us pour out our hearts to You, O God. We need Your peace continually in our lives. Train our hearts to dwell on good things. Help us to set our minds on things above, and walk in the Spirit. Give us a powerful desire to know you better and enjoy a closer walk with You each day. We wish to abide in Your presence always.
We praise Your great name in Jesus’ name Amen.
